about my blog

this was part of an email i sent over the summer.
along with giving my blog a little facelift, i’d love to become much more interactive with my followers and the rest of the blogging community. moreover, i just feel like this needs to be shared:
“Just this morning I was revealing to my mom the unexposed world of young people using blogging as a means to support one another in habits of extremely unhealthy lifestyles: starving, outrageous workouts, etc.
Of the many fad diets that get posted around the internet, one of them is the “ABC Diet” … Anorexic Boot Camp. These girls WANT to become anorexic. Because of this, in addition to my love of photography and of getting a little creative in the kitchen, my blog focuses on easy, healthy, and yummy foods that just about anyone can make at home if they feel so inclined.
Being a college  student, it was really important to me to enlighten other people my age as to how maintain a healthy diet… while still eatingI also played sports for the majority of my life until I suffered a knee injury, resulting in me not being able to play the sports that had been such a large part of my identity. Without practices 6 days a week to keep me in shape, I became much more conscious of the need to eat healthfully. So with college AND a void of exercise came the food blog! Hopefully it’s helped others to see what great foods one can still enjoy while staying healthy, and it has definitely helped me stay on track, get back into a regular exercise routine, and keep eating healthy so I will have more things to post :)
I post small “food tips” as little things to keep in mind while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I also post pretty much everything i make: meals, snacks, desserts. I purposefully refrain from listing the calories, carbs, sodium, etc. in order to stay away from the label of it being a diet blog or something of that nature. Mostly everything I post is very calorie-friendly and extremely healthy. And sometimes i like to add little details that I’d like to have in my kitchen (top choice is an adorable chalkboard menu board), and things that are necessities to have in the kitchen (Bialetti stovetop espresso maker is by far #1).
It’s a personal blog; I include why I made the food, how it tasted, where I got the groceries, what I did that day. But the focus remains on the food.”
